Which risks are associated with water in oil?Oil should contain less water than 200 mg/kg (0,02%, 200 ppm), to protect machines and oil systems against corrosion and cavitation damage. For oils with water content (even above 20%), the KLEENTEK Corp., Japan has developed a different series for separating water – Dehydrators (DH), which are able to reduce water content to a safe level, without limiting the machine operation. DH devices are used to separate free and bound water, as well as cutting fluids. DH devices can be used separately before cleaning, in series with the EOC device or as a compact, installed DH + ELC.
-
How does KLEENTEK's technology works?KLEENTEK: Electrostatic Oil Cleaner (“EOC”) make use of the principle of Coulomb’s Law. Oil flows around multiple pairs of electrodes with potential difference. suitably shaped inserts – collectors – are placed between the electrodes, where the particles are captured by the principle of electrostatic forces. The collectors are easily replaceable, affordable and sustainable. It can remove solid contaminant up to a few kilograms ("kg").
-
Why is KLEENTEK's so unique?KLEENTEK: Electrostatic Oil Cleaner (“EOC”) could remove insoluble solid contaminant, varnish and oil oxidation products from hydraulic and lubricating oil from up to 0.03 micron onward. It removes varnish, oil oxidation product and insoluble solid contaminant without causing spark discharge in the hydraulic lubrication system.
-
Does Electrostatic Cleaning affect and impact oil additive? The use of electrostatic oil cleaning on hydraulic and lubricating oil do not remove additives that has been blended and added into oil-by-oil manufacturer. However, with the prolong usage of KLEENTEK: Electrostatic Oil Cleaner, the depletion of oil additive is expected for most of the scenario. And therefore oil top-up is recommended and preferred of the same brand and and model.
-
It is important to change oil?Unless it is necessary to supplement the loss caused by oil spills, in many cases oil change is not required. Additives remaining in oil are not eliminated so quickly, when maintaining high oil cleanliness. It is just sufficient to perform oil analyzes and know their running status. Experts have found out that preserving mechanical and lubricating oil qualities depends on regular separation of foreign substances. Most EOC users do not change oil and their machines work seamlessly.
-
Does oil oxidation have any importance at all?In the process of oxidation (and thermooxidation), acidic products are formed, which determine formation of other compounds. Sediments (even resins) are formed, causing aggravated operation or even seizure of hydraulic components, reducing life of sealing (“sandpaper effect“).
